Meet the Agent: Rachel Sanderford

During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Rachel Sanderford, a Nest Realtor in Asheville .

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area? How long have you lived here? Rachel Sanderford: My family has been coming to Asheville for over a decade. I have friends and family in the area and nearby in Tennessee. I’ve been officially a resident here for a year and a half.

NR: How did you get into real estate? How long have you been practicing? RS: I’m new to practicing as a real estate agent but I have been an administrator on a real estate team for close to ten years.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate? RS: I am a copywriter and copyeditor as well as a webdesigner. I’ve applied these skills while working with a real estate team for close to a decade.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty as opposed to another brokerage? RS: I love that Nest is so community-centered. I want to give back and be involved in my community. Nest also has an amazing support system for its agents, and this is a huge plus!

NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent? RS: Helping others! Finding or selling a home can be so daunting but also rewarding! I want to make sure the process is as smooth as possible and everyone walks away with a good experience.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients? RS: My ability to truly listen. Everyone’s needs are different and I want to make sure your new home matches your needs!

NR: What are five adjectives to describe you? RS: Loyal, organized, empathetic, hardworking, and enthusiastic

NR: Who would be your dream client? RS: An artist! I love to hear the ideas people have when they walk into an empty space. The possibilities are endless.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be? RS: Don’t panic. And don’t lose faith! Negotiations can take some time and go back and forth. Trust the process!

NR: What’s your favorite season? Why? RS: Fall. I love the cooler weather and when the colors change.
